Grants and philanthropy provide essential funding for the society to support operations, projects, and preservation efforts without the obligation to repay. Grants enable us to expand our programs, build capacity, and increase visibility within our communities. Donations sustain critical services, preserves cultural heritage, and yield personal rewards. Contributions ensure we can continue missions such as historic site protection and education.

National Society Programs
The SAR Foundation of the National Society seeks to support the mission of the national organization through fundraising, grant seeking, and donor stewardship. You will discover many opportunities to support the National Society on their website.
- 1776 Society: The campaign for the 1776 Society was launched in 2015 to support out Education Center and Museum. Donations to this campaign are designed to directly cover the cost of square footage in the museum's gallery.
- Liberty Tree Campaign: In 2026, we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence. Could there be a more fitting tribute to the men and women who secured the civil liberties that we enjoy today than to share their story with the world? The Liberty Tree Campaign needs your help as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary.
- Planned Giving: Planned gifts provide long-term resources for the National Society and, in most cases, tax benefits to the donor. By remembering the society in your estate plans, you help to safeguard the society's future and honor America’s revolutionary past.
- Corporate and Sponsorship Giving: The Foundation is pleased to work with Corporate Partners and Sponsors to ensure that the ideals of the American Revolution are cherished and enjoyed for generations.
- George Washington Endowment Fund: The George Washington Endowment Fund is a permanently restricted fund managed by the George Washington Endowment Board of the National Society. Its purpose is to generate annual income that supports National committees and special projects without other financial resources.
- Collections: The Center for Advancing America’s Heritage houses the future Museum and Education Center as well as our Genealogical Research Library. If you are interested in donating objects to the museum or books to the library, contact a staff member of the Museum or Library to see if your collection falls within our scope of the holdings.
